Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and Elsevier launch Advanced Data & Text Centre (HEADT)
On 19 April, 2016, researchers at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Prof. J.C. Freytag, DBIS, and Prof. M. Seadle, Institut für Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft) and and Elsevier, a provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services officially announce the Humboldt Elsevier Advanced Data & Text Centre (HEADT).
The HEADT Centre aims to explore innovative ways to better serve the needs of researchers and practitioners in order to reduce barriers to mining content and the risk of research fraud such as plagiarism data falsification and fabrication as well as image manipulation. DBIS will be one of the two partners in the HEADT Centre. DBIS will perform work in similarity search and scalable text mining.
